COMMUNITY HEALTH FUNDERS' COLLABORATIVE
Encouraging creativity and partnerships to create sustainable
improvements in quality of life and health status for all.
About CHFC

The Community Health Funders' Collaborative is a philanthropic partnership created to sustain community improvement through focused initiatives and leveraged funding. It is composed of private, community and corporate funders whose focus includes improving health and quality of life in Franklin County, Ohio.

In the Fall of 2006, four funding organizations in Columbus, Ohio (Osteopathic Heritage Foundations, The Columbus Foundation, United Way of Central Ohio and Columbus Medical Association Foundation) convened to explore the development of a funders’ collaborative to support issues related to health and general wellness. This interest was the result of their previous participation in supporting a community project
to reduce the prevalence of obesity. The experience of that project, combined with a national trend toward collaboration among nonprofits, led the group to explore how they could potentially make a more significant difference in the community by working more closely together.  The Community Health Funders’ Collaborative is the result of those efforts.
